Text Box: Greetings
Some changes are in the wind for Orlando Lodge No. 69. Changes that will require your assistance. We have established Committees to handle the business of such things as Petitions, Illness, Funerals, Charity Finance, Lodge Prosperity, Trestleboard, Web Site, Public Relations, Social Events and Education.
I want each one of you to stand up in Lodge and express your desires on a matter of which you would like to see some action taken upon. You have that right as a Mason of this Lodge.
I will see that your concern is directed to the proper Committee Chairman for action.
I will also use the “TreastleBoard” to lay out the work of our Lodge and on the side border you will find the “Committees, there Chairperson and his report of the results of their assignments to date.Mentoring. Mentoring will be placed in effect as soon as we find a Mentee that needs a Mentor. All of us should be ready to Mentor a Brother what ever the matter may be. This will benefit all of us to become true Brothers and show concern. This will become a program strongly supported by the P.D.D.G.M’s. as well as the P.M.’s and I would like to see our Lodge applying this program vigorously. There area those of you with enough knowledge to share it with a Brother in need.
 Fraternally
John David Hershiser, Worshipful Master

My Brothers, what an exciting time this is to be a Mason! Brother Hoggatt performed well presiding in the East as we initiated three new brothers. They and the next few who have petitions awaiting balloting have a great interest in the Craft. When you combine that with the energy of our Fellowcraft brothers, newly raised Master Masons, and strong core of dedicated brothers, you get one the recipe for a successful lodge. This bodes well for us as “many hands make for light work.” Active committees lead to concise meetings; concise meetings lead to higher attendance, and higher attendance leads to more fellowship and fewer left-overs. Thank you to RW Brim and his committeemen for an informative and expedient meeting. Remember, my Brothers, to read all that you can; ponder the meanings of our beautiful system of morality, veiled in allegory and illustrated by symbols. Whether or not you come to lodge, the best way to seek further light is to be a life-long learner: pick up a book and renew your quest. On the Square, Scott

My Brothers, we have a situation that on you can help with. It seems that a few of our brothers have begun to gain weight. This reason for the weight gain is from the good food at Lodge. Since we have been missing your attendance, several of the Brothers have had to eat your share of the food. Please help keep these brothers healthy by coming to Lodge and enjoying a good hot meal prepared just for you. Remember, my goal this year is to make sure no one goes home hungry.
Finally, Degree’s, Degree’s, Degree’s, what night is it and what Degree are we doing. We have been reading and balloting on petitions almost every meeting night. Along with this, we have been doing Degree’s almost every other week. Think back to the nights you went through your Degree’s and come join us to bring new members into the Craft. My Brothers, Each of us brings to the lodge different skills, each of us come from different backgrounds and fields of endeavor. The Lodge needs many hands to accomplish the several tasks set fourth for us each month. It is not unusual for the spoken or written word to generate discord, sometimes we do not think about those things that we say or write, as to how they may be perceived. Those hearing or receiving them do not always think about the reasons they were written or said, but only upon what reflection they bring upon me, and the vitriol is released, doing no one any good. The Lodge suffers, and the Brothers are diametrically opposed in total disharmony. While not easy to do, it is incumbent upon each of us to forgive seventy times seven. (Matthew Chapter 18) Each of us should remember to examine those things that we are about to say or write, and ask of ourselves how they will be received, keeping in mind that we are all volunteers, and disharmony does no one any good, and leaves empty chairs in the Lodge. Fraternally, Bob
